Double Sided Scanner Printer Printer Auto Power Off...?

Printer auto power off...? - double sided scanner printer

My trusty Canon S600 is now irreversible.

The substitution MP540 - is equal to or better in normal print and print amazing photos.
So what's my problem?
The S600 has an auto shut ... switches are idle for a period, but only when something is sent for printing.
This was very useful, because not all printers use, is very close.
The MP540 does not seem to have this facility, and Canon does not appear that) his current crop MFDs, which (if it exists.

Does anybody know where I can find models, the automatic switch-off?
Great if you can share their own knowledge, better if you can give a link to a review ...

I am looking for a USB printer, scanner (not neefax there) with separate ink tanks and Auto On / Off. Networking / Wireless connectivity is not required, nor the ability to print on both sides ... and not just limit myself to Canon.
